Be Prepared For A Wonderful New Year For The Lord

Thank the Lord for a marvelous past year, but God willing, an even greater New Year! We've got lots further to go for the Lord, in new areas & with new methods & means & even some new people! God is going to do marvelous wonders, signs, & miracles in the year to come! We're looking forward to even greater things!--Jesus promised, "Greater things than these shall ye do!" (Jn.14:12) If we stay close to the Lord, He will help us make it & win the victories, surmount the obstacles & accomplish His purposes for this coming year!

We ask Thee, Lord, to give us a New Year even better than the last one. Help us to help others to find the freedom & the joy that we have through knowing You. Help us, Lord, as we start this next year, to work even harder & sacrifice more & do more for You. Give us the strength to do what you want, lead & guide us & keep us in Thy Will, Lord. Give us a good year, whatever comes, that it will be one that we've lived to the fullest for You. Help us to reach as many others with Your Gospel as we can, Lord. We ask for Thy glory. In Jesus' name, amen! Happy New Year!

We're In A Hurry

Time is short & getting shorter all the time! It's getting twilight, & it looks like the End is not far away. So we'd better get everything done we can, & get it done fast! We need speed, not perfection! The main thing that we're short of is time! You can wait till you get to Heaven if you want to be perfectionists, when you'll have all Eternity! But right now we're in Time & we've got very little time left!

So thank the Lord for these precious days while we have the priceless opportunity to serve the Lord & to spread the Gospel! But we'd better make hay while the sun shines, because it's a marvelous opportunity to do the best we can & the most we can right now.

Do your best to really put your best into what is best & make it count! The hour is late & we have to do the "works of Him that sent us while it is day, for the night's coming when we're not going to be able to work," at least not like we can now. (John 9:4) It's late, & the days are evil, so we've got to work & try to get the job done that He wants us to. (Eph.5:16)

Are you doing your best for Jesus now?--God bless you & keep you busy for Jesus & souls!

Don't Let The Devil Sidetrack You Into Anything Less Than God's Best

Did you know you can even be tempted sometimes to do good things which aren't necessarily best? Not all open doors of opportunity are of the Lord! Some of them can be tricks of the Devil--decoys, blind alleys, red herrings, side tracks & downright disasters put there by the Enemy to try to distract you! If he can't stop you, he'll try to keep you from doing the best thing, he'll try to sidetrack you into wasting your time on something that he makes you think is good! The Enemy tries to distract your attention from the things you should be concerned about, so that you become busy with a little here & a little there until the most important thing is gone! (1Ki.20:40a)

How are you going to know the difference between the voice of God & the voice of the Devil? Well, if the voice tells you to do something bad, you know it's the Devil! If it tells you to do something good, you know it is God! This is true also if the Devil tells you to do something good but God has told you to do something better!

So don't let the Enemy distract you from doing the best thing!--God's best!

Jesus Came To Try To Make It As Easy For Us As He Could

The Lord tried to make the Christian life so easy that anybody could do it. He walked those dusty roads & talked to the simple fishermen & the tax collectors & the drunks & harlots to show them that God loved them all & that they could all love God, they could all be Christians, they could all love each other & serve each other & serve the World with the Gospel!

God changed His whole System when it was proven that we couldn't keep His laws.--He made a way of escape, of mercy, forgiveness & grace: Salvation. Now nobody has any excuse for blaming their problems on God because He has made a way out, a way to get the victory, a way to overcome our sins & faults & shortcomings & problems & weaknesses, whatever they may be. He has given us the Way, the Truth & the Life, Jesus! (Jn.14:6) Jesus paid the price, making the way. He's given us the Message, the Truth, & He can help us to live the kind of life we ought to live.

He never asks of any of us a standard that is beyond our particular individual reach. Whatever He asks, we can do!--With His help & by His grace & through His power & His Love we can attain it! (Phi.4:13)

Work Together, Unite Together, Stick Together, Win Together!

We are the loyal Army of the Lord, the true King & Heir! We're fighting against a usurper, an impostor king, the Devil. Our goal & commission is to rescue the masses from the morasses of Satanic power & the grip of the Devil on their souls, & to restore the Kingdom to the authority of its rightful King of kings, Jesus Christ!

We must work together hand-in-hand, fighting together in the service & the Army of the Lord against the common Enemy. The Devil's own tactic all through the ages has been to divide & conquer. If he can get God's own people fighting amongst themselves, it weakens them, then they're unable to fight the real Enemy & down they go. So let us not allow the Devil to divide & conquer us, but rather, let's conquer him & his forces!

Things shall grow worse & worse until the End comes, so we'll need to work more & more together in greater strength & unity to overcome the Enemy. (2Tim.3:13; Eph.4:3) So for God's sake, let's plead with God to help us be melted together in the white-hot Love of His Spirit, fighting together against the Foe!

Keep The Gospel Simple

God's mercy doesn't hang on legalistic theological technicalities.--Who knows how little a small child can really understand, yet Jesus said, "Except ye be converted, & become as little children, ye shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven!" (Mat.18:3) You gotta be a baby!--And babies don't waste most of their time arguing over theoretical theological doctrinal shibboleths!

The Bible was intended for the instruction & conversion of the whole World. Why should God cover its true meaning in such mystery & doubt that none but critics & philosophers can discover it? It's the Devil who is the author of confusion! He tries to make Salvation seem so complicated or so difficult that people can't understand it.--1Cor.14.33.

Don't be led away from the simplicity of the Gospel, the Good News of God's Love in Jesus! (See 2Cor.11:3.) Not everyone can understand strong doctrine or complicated theological interpretations, but everyone understands love.--So stay on the main line & stick to the most important essentials, the most important doctrines of all--Jesus & His Love & His Salvation!

Let's not argue over doctrine, let's get souls saved!

A Crown Of Life Is Even More Than A Reward

The Lord promised, "Be thou faithful unto death, & I will give thee a Crown of Life!" (Rev.2:10) He's not talking about your Salvation there! Salvation is a gift of God! (Rom.6:23)--You don't work for it or earn it at all! But your crown is your reward & even more! It's not only a reward, but it symbolizes a lot of work & heavy responsibility!

We're saved already, whether we endure to the end or not, but we'll be given special rewards, special crowns, special medals, special honor & a special shining if we manage to be a special blessing while here! (See Dan.12:3; 2Tim.4:7,8; Jam.1:12.)

Of course, you're going to fall down before the Lord & cast your crowns before His throne like the 24 elders in Revelation 4:10! Every time you start praising the Lord you're going to forget all about that crown & it's going to tumble off right at His feet. But He gave it to you, so you'd better pick it up again & wear it, because that's the one He gave you! That's what's going to show what you have done for the Lord. And the Lord wants the World to see it, He wants the people to see it, He wants all Creation to see the badge of your faithfulness, a Crown of Life!

The Easy Way Is To Believe The Truth, God's Word, Then You Don't Have To Learn The Hard Way

God gives us the opportunity to learn the easy way by obeying what we're told, even if we don't always know why. But if we insist on learning the hard way, God is a good Father & in His Mercy & His Love He will let us go ahead & learn by our mistakes!

God allowed Adam & Eve to go ahead & disobey & to learn by bitter experience what they wouldn't learn the easy way, by teaching, by the Word, or by being told. And when they went ahead & ate of the forbidden tree, God had to apply the rod & we've suffered for it ever since! (Gen.3; Rom.5:12) But through it all, the bitter experience of Adam & Eve, all their descendants, including us, have learned by comparison the difference between obedience & disobedience. We've learned the rewards of obedience & the consequences of disobedience.

"All things work together for good to them that love the Lord!" (Rom.8:28) Even our mistakes are not unprofitable as long as we learn by them! At least we don't very easily forget the lessons we learn that way! So help us, Lord, to follow the easy path of obedience to the Truth of Your Word!

Hold On!

Sometimes we wonder, "Why do we have to go through these trials & breakings, Lord?" Well, there are some things the Lord can't reveal to you in advance because you're not yet ready. He's got to let you go through some testings without your even knowing what the future holds, to see if you can take it, to see how loyal you are, to see how strong you are, to see how faithful you are, to see if you will be willing to do whatever He asks! If He told you the end from the beginning, that would be too easy, like giving you the answer to a guessing game or doing a puzzle for you. That wouldn't really be a test.

Although in a way it hurts Him to see you suffer, He loves to watch you make it in spite of all the tests & trials. He loves to watch you win the race, endure the affliction & the battle, & fight through to victory!

If you can stand & pass the test, God can use you for something greater than you've ever done before, in the center of His Will where He knows you fit best, the special job He has for you, the thing God wants done the most.

So don't settle for anything less than His best! Hold on! It's just around the corner!--And it's worth it! (Rev.3:11)

We Can Build A Home Of Hearts That's Going To Last For Eternity

The happiest part about Heaven will be all the souls we'll see there that we won to the Lord, all the ones that we had a share in winning to Him! Our greatest joy is going to be His Love & the love of others, particularly the gratitude & thankfulness of those we helped to get there!

If you really love someone, you will love them all the way!--All the way to Heaven & all the way through eternity! Tell them about Jesus & help them receive Him! Then they'll be saved & you'll have them forever in Heaven! No matter what happens here, you'll meet them over there! But if you don't tell them about Jesus, you'll be parted from them forever! If you're saved & they're not, you'll never see them again.--At least not for a long, long time, & they'll suffer so! Don't let that happen to your loved ones! Tell them about Jesus now so you'll have them for Eternity, together with Him in Heavenly places!

Help us, Lord, to win as many as we possibly can. So much of the World is still unsaved & still needs to know about You & Your Love! Help us, Lord, to impart it to them so we can all be together with You!

"When The Enemy Comes In Like A Flood, The Spirit Of God Will Raise A Standard Against Him"

Sometimes living for the Lord is a real battle & a real fight. But the Devil can't lay a claw or a fang on you, he can't inundate you or drown you with his lies if you resist him with the Word of God! The Bible is God's standard, like a banner or flag that we can wave in front of the Devil's sharp pointed nose, & he will flee!--He can't take the Word! (Jam.4:7)

When the Devil tempts you, what's the first thing to do?--Ask the Lord for a Scriptural answer! That's what Jesus did! When the Devil tempted Him & lied to Him, He just quoted the Scriptures! Of course, the Devil also tried quoting Scripture to Jesus, but he twisted them & took them out of context. So the Lord just fired Scriptures back at him the way they should have been applied, "It is written!" (Lk.4:1-13)--And the Devil fled! He can't resist the Word!

The best way to stop an attack is to counter-attack! The best defense is an offense! Wage a militant warfare against the Enemy! Baptize yourself constantly in prayer, soak yourself in the Word, memorize & quote God's Promises!--Even to the Devil, as well as to yourself! You can put the Enemy out of action with the Word!--Bury him in a flood of the Truth!

"To Obey Is Better Than Sacrifice & To Hearken Than The Fat Of Rams"

A lot of people try to go ahead in their own strength & their own wisdom & do what they think is God's Will & God's work. But you can't serve God unless you obey God! You can't just do what you think is right, no matter how good it is.--Your best isn't good enough! It takes God to really do the job right! Your best, your own human strength, is not sufficient.

Do exactly what the Lord tells you, no more, no less.--One man thought he could do better than that, & he lost his job!--King Saul! He had God's anointing & blessing as long as he obeyed & waited on the Lord, but when he started going his own way & disobeying, he lost it!

There's no "little" disobedience to God, any disobedience is a big one! Nothing short of right is right! It's either all or nothing at all with God! You're either obedient or you're disobedient! God's Word says he that breaks even the least of these commandments & shall teach men so, shall be the least in the Kingdom! (Mat.5:19)

Wait & obey! That's one of the most valuable lessons you can ever learn about serving the Lord!

Constant Victory Means Constant Battle

Life for the Lord is not something about which we can just say, "Well, I made that victory! I've won the battle & the war is over, & now I'm going to settle down & enjoy life!" Because we never have a victory without a battle, & there are some battles we have to keep fighting our whole lives until our dying day!

It's a battle every day--especially with our besetting sins--"the weights & sins that so easily beset us." (Heb.12:1) Some people seem to think they can get the victory once & for all over something & they'll never have another battle. But that's where the Devil is apt to test us the most, on our weak spot, our Achilles heel, our besetting sin, our greatest temptation! But the Lord always has the victory for us if we'll keep going for Him! He says, "My grace is sufficient for thee; for My strength is made perfect in your weakness." (2Cor.12:9)

It's really thrilling to look back & see our own progress!--To look back down that rugged mountain road we've just come over & to see we're really getting somewhere! But it's even more exciting to look forward & up to heights we're soon to attain & views we're soon to thrill to if we keep fighting, climbing, winning & don't quit!--Amen?
