He Wants You To Be Happy!

God is not a sad God!--He's a happy God, Who wants you to be happy too! The Bible says, "Happy is the people whose God is the Lord!" (Psa.144:15) This is the whole point of Salvation, to relieve us of the suffering, pain, death & tears brought into the World by the Enemy & the sins of Man! God is not a monster who's trying to deny you everything & make you miserable, but He loves life & created it all for you to enjoy! He has made this beautiful World as a home for you to live in & enjoy, & He has lovingly given you a wonderful body, mind & heart with which to enjoy it!

In fact, He sometimes almost spoils us with such blessings that He gives us the desires of our hearts for having delighted ourselves in Him! (Psa.37:4) But God's pretty smart & He knows that the happier we are, the more we'll love Him & the more obedient we'll be out of pure love, & so do an even better job for Him in serving others with whom He wants us to share His Love!

He wants to make you happy with His Love, & help you to make others happy, too--with both His Love & your love! This is our main purpose in life, to love God & enjoy Him forever, & to try to help others to do the same!

Let The Lord Do The Worrying!

The two greatest sources of fear & worry are the past & the future--remorse over the past, or fear of the future--& God's Word forbids us to worry about either! If you know the Lord, then you're His child, & you don't have anything to worry about.

Worry is a sign of fear, & fear is not faith. "Fear hath torment" (1Jn.4:18), & lack of faith can be a terrible, frightening thing. But faith in God, trust in God, gives you a feeling of rest of body, peace of mind, contentment of heart & spiritual well-being. It's faith that keeps you from worry. It's faith that keeps out fear. Jesus said, "Let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God, believe also in Me." (Jn.14:1) The beginning of faith is the end of worry! If you're trusting the Lord, you know He's going to take care of you & you don't have to worry about anything!

"God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, & of Love, & of a sound mind!" (2Tim.1:7) So commit your way, your life, your mind, your thoughts, your time--your everything--to the Lord! "Cast thy burden upon the Lord & He shall sustain thee!" (Psa.55:22) His shoulders are broad enough to carry any load!

The Secret Of Calm & Peace & Rest & Patience & Love Is Resting In The Lord!

Jesus said, "Come unto Me, all ye that labor & are heavy laden, & I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, & learn of Me; for I am meek & lowly in heart: And ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, & My burden is light." (Mat.11:28-30)

The Lord said, "My yoke is easy & My burden is light"--but there's one condition--"Come unto Me!" When you are wearied with the strain of it all, you can fly to God on the wings of prayer & faith & get the relief that He alone can give you. He knows what you need most of all: Rest & peace & fellowship with Him & feeding on His Word.--"And you shall find rest to your soul." Not many people understand that the soul is a body with a spirit. (Gen.2:7) If you don't rest in the Spirit you are going to wear out your body!

Jesus even says of Himself, "For I am meek & lowly in heart"--humble--"& ye shall find rest unto your souls." If you're meek & lowly in heart, you'll find rest to your soul, for His yoke is easy & His burden is light! Take His yoke on you.--Not the yoke of this World, not your own yoke, but the yoke of Jesus' Own Love & His burden of Love for others!

"It Is Not I That Burn, But Christ That Burneth In Me!"

Do you know the principle of the candle? It's not really the wick that's burning, it's the wax. And with the oil lamp, the principle is the same: It must be the oil that burns & not the wick, for the wick without oil will be destroyed!

Sometimes we try too hard, work too hard, trying to do everything ourselves when we need to let the Lord do the burning & just let Him flow through us & let Him burn! If we do the burning, we're going to burn out fast. But if you let Him burn you'll last a long time! Let the oil, the Holy Spirit, burn! That's the whole secret of the wick!

The wick must be deeply immersed in the oil! Most of the wick is in the oil, only a tiny little bit of it is exposed to the air & to the flame. It's mostly oil that burns & very little of the wick, almost none, but the oil flows freely through a wick that is yielded & deeply soaked in the oil! Then it gives bright clear light to all the house in the beauty of His perfection, in the holiness of His light! For it is not I that burn but Christ that burneth in me! For the life that I now live, I live by the strength of the Lord that liveth in me! (Gal.2:20; Mat.5:14-16)

I Will Not Doubt Though All My Ships Come Home With Broken Sails!

When everything goes wrong & seems contrary to the Word & the usual, only those with great faith can say with Job, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him!" (Job 13:15) Even though the Lord let the Devil nearly destroy him, Job still didn't say "uncle" to the Devil, nor even to his wife who told him to curse God & die! He just kept on believing & obeying!--And he came out doubly blessed & lives forever!

But a lot of people faint on the way to victory. They get weak & tired & they give up. They "suffer so many things in vain." (Gal.3:4) They go though so much & then miss the victory!--Like Esau, they give up too easily. He despised his birthright & settled for something he could see & easily believe in, rather than something he couldn't see & had to have great faith for. (Gen.25:33-34)

So when things look darkest, don't look down!--Look up! Be not fearful, but believing! Keep believing & obeying no matter what happens! Don't get down in the mouth, murmuring & discouraged, but praise the Lord & thank Him for the glorious victories of the future by faith, even if you can't see them now.--You'll be glad you trusted Him tomorrow!

God's Idea Of Perfection Is Love!

God's idea of perfection is often quite different from our idea of perfection! God took a man who was a murderer & made him the Apostle Paul! Jesus took a woman who was one of the biggest harlots in town & made her one of His favorite disciples! King David was one of the worst sinners that the World has known, but he was also one of the greatest saints, because he knew he was totally dependent on the Love & the mercy of God for forgiveness!

God's idea of saintliness is not sinless perfection, it's a sinner who has no perfection, no righteousness of his own at all, but is totally dependent on the love & the mercy of God! These are the only saints there are--there are no others!

When we feel so righteous & good, it's really because we are self-righteous, & not closer to God but closer to ourselves! So let's forget about trying to be perfect!--Because we never will be! Let's just follow the Lord & do the best we can for Jesus & others!

The only standard of righteousness or perfection is: Do you depend on the Lord totally, trust Him & His Love & His mercy? True righteousness is being full of the Lord & His love, for only He is all right!

The Most Important Job You Have Is Listening To The King: To Stop, Look & Listen!

It's not up to the king to try to go chasing His subjects around, screaming & hollering at them to try to get them to do what He wants. He isn't going to go chasing you around trying to beat you over the head with a Bible to get you to listen! But you must come to Him with quietness & respect, & sincerely & in trembling present your petition, & wait silently to get the answer.

If you're in a room full of people & the TV is on, if they keep raising their voices & drowning out the TV, no matter how loud the volume is, you won't get what it has to say. And the Lord, unlike the TV, will just shut up if you don't listen! When Israel stopped listening & ceased to believe what God had to say & quit doing what He commanded, He just stopped talking to them for nearly three hundred years between the Testaments! God does not like to talk to either deaf, unbelieving or unheeding ears! So He just shuts up!

But if you seek the Lord, you will hear from the Lord & be led of the Lord. He says, "Call unto Me, & I will answer thee, & show thee great & mighty things, which thou knowest not!" (Jer.33:3)

"Blessed Are They Which Are Persecuted For Righteousness' Sake!"

If you never have any problems & nothing's ever wrong, if you never receive any persecution & "all men speak well of you" (Lk.6:26), then you're not living Godly in Christ Jesus!--"For all that will live Godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution!" (2Tim.3:12) Persecution shows you're getting the job done! It shows you're hitting the Devil where it hurts when his followers start howling! It shows that you're really on the job, which really makes the Devil mad!

Jesus Himself was terribly persecuted & finally crucified for telling the Truth & showing God's Love to the World.--And He said, "The disciple is not above his master: If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you." (Mat.10:24; Jn.15:20) Therefore, "Rejoice & be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in Heaven, for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you!" (Mat.5:12) Jesus promised that if you would suffer with Him, you would also reign with Him! (2Tim.2:12) So are you going to reign a little while now, & suffer a lot later?--Or are you going to suffer a little now & reign forever?

If You Don't Get The Credit Here, You'll Get The Credit There

What a surprise we're going to get when the Lord hands out the rewards!--As to who was really greatest! Some people serve unselfishly, sacrificially, utterly giving themselves to the utmost, & yet never getting the credit for it, & are virtually unknown!--But God has a great big Book, & it's known to Him, & He's writing it all down! And He'll reward everyone according to their works--whether they be good, or whether they be evil. (See Heb.6:10, 2Cor.5:10.) The Bible says, "Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: And the Lord hearkened, & heard it, & a Book of Remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the Lord & that thought upon His Name." (Mal.3:16)

At the Judgment Seat of Christ & the Marriage Supper of the Lamb someday soon, the Lord will greatly reward all those that had the faith & perseverance to stay in His school till class was dismissed.--So be faithful unto the end so that when you stand before Jesus one day soon, you will know you have done your job the best you can. Then you will "rejoice & be exceeding glad, for great shall be your reward in Heaven!" (Mat.5:12)--Not here always, but always there!

Live In The Word!

The Bible is a very deep Book! Read it & you will find a constant & continual revelation of more & more & greater & greater truth! In fact, you'll find that the Bible is such an enormous study & so fascinating & so deep & so broad that as the prophet Ezekiel said, it is as "waters to swim in"! (Eze.47:5) So, dive in & swim!--Revel in the depths of His Word!--The refreshing Water of the Word that will feed your soul, strengthen your body, renew your mind, lift your spirit, encourage your heart & purify your whole being! (Eph.5:26)

Help us, Lord Jesus, to remember what King David of old said about Thy Laws & Thy Word & Thy Precepts. He lived in them night & day. Help us also, Lord, to stay in the Word of God, grounded in the Word. (Psa.1:2)

You should be so hungry for the pure, sincere milk of the Word, that, like a newborn baby, you should devour it & drink it in! (1Pet.2:2) Like the old saying about health, "You are what you eat"--physically, you are what you read spiritually. So be sure you're getting your right spiritual food, the good, wholesome, nourishing, uplifting, encouraging, inspiring, feeding truth of the Word of God! God will bless you as you live in His Word!

Jesus Said, "Lovest Thou Me?--Then Feed My Sheep!"

This is the last message that Jesus gave to His disciples: "Lovest thou Me?" They said, "Well, of course, Lord, You know we love You!" He said, "Then feed My sheep!" The Lord wants us to have real love for the lost, to tell others about His Love & to feed them spiritually with His Word.

The most wonderful experience you can ever have is to find the Love of God in Jesus, & pass it on to your children, your mate, your loved ones, your friends & even strangers. Jesus alone can save you, but He can't save you alone.--If you're really saved & you really love the Lord, you're going to share His Love! You're going to witness & tell others!

What can you do for Jesus?--You can feed His sheep, you can love His little ones, you can reach the lost.--That's what He wants you to do. This is the greatest work in the World--to feed His sheep, to witness the Words of God, to preach the Gospel, to tell others about God's great Love, to show them the Love of Jesus! So keep on loving Jesus & His dear little sheep & continue to search them out & love them into His fold, till the Great Shepherd returns for His Own on that Great Day! (See Isa.40:10,11; 1Pet.5:2-4.)

God Turns The Wheels Of His Universe On Very Small Things!

Little things are so important: Look at what resulted from one wrong decision in the Garden of Eden; one tiny boat in a worldwide flood; one little Tower of Babel! One little stone brought down a giant; one little manger changed the destiny of Mankind; & one little deal brought death to the Saviour, so that only a little mustard seed of faith could move mountains! (Gen.3;7;11; 1Sam.17; Lk.2:7; Mat.26:14-16; 17:20)

So little things are very important. And though some things may seem very unimportant to us, they may be very important to the Lord!--And God may hold us accountable for them! Many things that may seem little things to us are not so little in God's sight!

It's like that famous bit of British history: "For want of a nail, a shoe was lost. For want of a shoe, a horse was lost. For want of a horse, a king was lost. And for want of a king, the kingdom was lost!"--All because of one tiny little nail!--The importance of little things! This is why the Scripture says, "He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in that which is most." (Lk.16:10)--So look out for "Little Things"! Don't ever underestimate them!

For God's Sake, Don't Praise Man!--Praise God! Give Him All The Glory!

At the Tower of Babel, the people said, "Now we're going to make a name for ourselves!--Look how big we are, how mighty & how powerful we are! Look how wonderful we are, how great we are! Behold us, we are the people!" And they forgot to give God the credit. They failed to give Him the glory, so God came down & smote them & scattered them & made them a total wreck. (Gen.11:1-9)

One of the biggest dangers you have is to begin thinking too highly of yourself. (Rom.12:3) The minute you start patting yourself on the back, God will see to it that you're humbled to bring you out of it. (1Cor.10:12) He's a jealous God, & He wants & deserves all the glory, & will have no other gods before Him! (Exo.20:5; Isa.42:8)

"Whatsoever you do in word or in deed, do all to the glory of God!" (1Cor.10:31; Col.3:17) That is our prayer, that we will please the Lord & do everything we do in word or in deed, to His glory! So whatsoever we do or say today, Lord, do help us to do all to Thy glory. "And God forbid that I should boast, save in My Savior, Jesus Christ, our Lord, to Whom be the glory forever & ever!" (Gal.6:14)

If You Really Want To Drive Away The Devil & His Doubts, Just Start Praising The Lord No Matter What's Happening!

The Devil can really tell you a lot of truth about yourself that's horrible, not to speak of the lies he tells you. One of his favorite tactics is to try to persuade you to quit by hitting you with a barrage of doubt, discouragement & self pity! If we don't keep our eyes on the Lord & our mind on His Word, we're doomed to defeat, doubt, discouragement & final failure.

When you're discouraged, the Devil tries to make you mad at the truth because he's afraid of being defeated by it!--And if you listen to the Devil's lies, you'll even forget the Words of God! If you spend your time listening to his doubts & murmurs, & singing his dirges, you'll even forget God's praises.

So rebuke the Enemy in Jesus' name when he tempts you with negative thoughts. Start praising the Lord, & you'll often praise your way right out of the pit into which the Devil is trying to cast you! When he comes around with his doubts, lies & fears, don't just stand there; do something--sing, shout, praise the Lord, quote Scriptures! Sock it to him with the Word! The Devil can't take the Word! He'll turn tail & run!

You Don't Have To Worry About Anything, All You Have To Do Is Obey!

Your happiness & your health & your blessings in this life depend on your obedience to God. If you are obeying the Lord & are faithful & loyal & trusting & believing, then God's got to bless you. But if He's not blessing you, it's not His fault, it's your fault!--Something's wrong somewhere.

Sometimes you just have to have the faith to trust God, that He knows best.--Just like a child has to trust a parent, even though he doesn't always understand why he must do this or that or not do it. He just has to "do it because Daddy says so!"--Because Daddy knows best, & he'll probably find out Daddy was right in the long run! The smartest thing a child can do is to obey & follow his parents, & do as they do, & as they tell him to do, if he wants to stay out of trouble & survive!--So help us, Lord, to just trust Thee & obey, whether we always understand what You are doing in our lives or not.

The thing that counts with God is your faith in Him & His Word, & your obedience to the Lord. So God bless you & help you to believe & obey.

"Trust & obey, for there's no other way,
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust & obey!"

Winter's Over!--Spring Is Here!

It's a pity to live in unhappiness, when just around the corner, your life can be thrilling & fulfilling & wonderful beyond all expectation!--"Beyond the blue horizon waits a beautiful day! Goodbye to things that bore me, joy is waiting for me! I've found a new horizon, my life has only begun! Beyond the blue horizon, waits a rising sun!" For all of us who have found the Lord, that certainly is true! Our lives are constantly full of new horizons, behind which the rising Son, Jesus, is always shining, & always brightening each new day! (Mal. 4:2)

He came "that we might have life, & have it more abundantly" (John 10:10), & enjoy His joy to the fullest, here & now!--Not just "pie in the sky" & "Heaven hereafter", but "an hundred-fold in this life, & in the World to come, Life Eternal"! (Mark 10:30)--All this & Heaven too!--Heaven on Earth & Heaven hereafter! When we found Jesus, it was like the end of a cold, hard Winter & the beginning of a beautiful new Spring-like awakening of the Spirit of Life! Hallelujah! We have a Heaven on Earth in our hearts!

"For Truth & Spring our God can bring,
And happy you can be!
Take Jesus' joy right here & now,
And live a life that's free!"

Don't Worry, The Lord Will Supply!

God is very good to those who love Him & are trying to serve Him the best they can. In fact, He tries to be as good to them as possible!--He will give us "exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think"--providing we give Him our all. (Eph.3:20) The Lord says, "Command thou Me!" "He shall give thee the desires of thine heart." "No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly." "And my God shall supply all your needs!" (Isa.45:11; Psa.37:4; 84:11; Phi.4:19) Jesus said, "Ask, & it shall be given you; seek, & ye shall find; knock, & it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; & he that seeketh findeth; & to him that knocketh, it shall be opened!" (Mat.7:7-8)

He will solve every problem, He will meet every need, He will even give you your every desire if you please Him--He's promised it! He'll give you what you ask for, & certainly what you have the faith for! Our God is a God of miracles & He can supply from some of the most unexpected sources.--And if you really please Him, He not only gives you everything you need, but even many of the things you want!

So be faithful to the Lord & stay in the center of His Will, & He will be faithful to take care of you!--Amen?

It's Wise To Be Simple!

Many worldly people strive to gain more & more knowledge, but they'd be wiser if they were just simple. The Lord has to get by all that stuff to get to their heart! The Bible warns, "Beware lest ye be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ!" (2Cor.11:3) Jesus said, "Except ye become as a little child ye shall in no wise enter into the Kingdom of Heaven!" (Mat.18:3) If we'll just recognize that we're just little children, & that we don't know anything, that the Lord is the One Who knows it all, that He is the only One Who is really wise & knows what He's doing, that's being really smart!

The newborn babe does not try to rationalize his mother & father & brothers & sisters & the new World & life around him. He just accepts & enjoys them & starts learning how to live & enjoy life & loved ones. You don't have to personally know all the answers, the whys & wherefores, or be able to explain everything or answer all the questions--just know Him! He brings you love, He makes your life, He gives you happiness & all you ever wanted & more! What else matters?

"Jesus loves me, this I know.
For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong,
We are weak, but He is strong!"

John 3:36 Ends All Our Worries! "He That Hath The Son Hath Everlasting Life!"

You don't have to wait till you die to find out if you're saved! Once you've received Jesus Christ & you have Him in your heart, & you love Him & you know Him & you believe on Him as your Savior, there are no if's, and's, or but's about it! You are a saved child of God! You have eternal life right now!--And you are the Lord's forever! (Jn.1:12; 6:37; 10:28,29)

You already have Salvation! You don't need to worry about whether or not you are going to lose it, or how you are going to manage to stay saved, because Eternal Salvation by Grace means once saved, always saved!--Besides, you can't keep yourself saved any more than you could save yourself in the first place! Only Jesus can do it! (Phi.1:6; 1Pet.1:5) So even though you're not perfect, & you're bound to make mistakes, God is going to save you anyway! Once you've received Jesus, you are completely purified & redeemed in the eyes of God by the sacrifice of Christ on Calvary!--That's the amazing Love of Jesus Christ & the Mercy of God! You're saved right now because God has promised it & God's Word is true!

Salvation is forever! He's already given it to you & He's not going to take it back! It's yours! Praise the Lord!

Nothing Happens Without God's Will, Especially To His Child Whom He Loves!

Nothing "bad" happens to a Christian without some spiritual cause! It's always for a good reason, to teach us something or because of our own sins, faults, mistakes, neglects or disobediences!

The Lord is in control! Nothing happens without His permission--or our permission! Sometimes we get ourselves into trouble through our own carelessness or prayerlessness!

The Lord does everything for a good reason. He says, "All things come of God," & "All things work together for good to them that love the Lord." (2Cor.5:18; Rom.8:28) He's trying to train, discipline & chasten us to make us better. But chastenings, like Paul confesses in Hebrews 12, are sometimes inclined to discourage us & tempt us to give up instead! But about that time the Lord always comes to our rescue!

"Things don't just happen to children of God,
They're part of a wonderful Plan!
The troubles, reverses, the sorrows, the rod,
Are strokes of the Great Sculptor's hand!
Things don't just happen to children of God,
The blueprint was made by His hand;
He designed all the details to conform to His Son,
So all things that happen are planned."

Resist the Devil & he will flee from you! (Jam.4:7)

"We Wrestle Not Against Flesh & Blood, But Against Higher Powers In Spiritual Spheres!"

We are fighting in a war!--Not with carnal weapons against carnal Man, but against spiritual forces. That war is going on all the time in the unseen sphere of the Spirit all around us & even in us!--That war is going on between God & the Devil, between Jesus & Satan, between the forces of good & the forces of evil, between the angels of God & the demons of the Devil, between the saints of God & the wicked departed spirits that follow Satan!

We're not just fighting evil people, but evil spirits who possess them! Therefore, we have to have weapons that are more powerful than normal physical, carnal weapons. We have to have powerful spiritual weapons. Our weapons are not carnal, but much more powerful, unto the tearing down of spiritual strongholds, fighting & opposing spiritual wickedness in the spiritual realm! (2Cor.10:4)

The Devil's forces are everywhere, & are on the constant lookout for us! So we must be on the lookout for them & avoid them the best we can. But don't be afraid of them, for "If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Rom.8:31)

Resist the Devil & he will flee from you! (Jam.4:7)

We Are Citizens Of The World By Birth, But Citizens Of Heaven By Rebirth!

We have in effect renounced our Worldly citizenship when we receive the King of kings into our hearts. We have become citizens of God's great Heavenly City & members of the Kingdom of God when we become Christians--real Christians, true Christians, disciples of Christ, lovers of God, lovers of Jesus!

We're citizens of a New World of love & life & happiness in Jesus forever!--The Kingdom of Heaven!--The only Country that never did a wrong thing or fought a wrong war or persecuted the poor or oppressed the weak or polluted the Earth! Our Country's trying to save the World, to stop the wars, to relieve the poor & to feed the hungry, heal the sick & liberate the captives who are bound. We're citizens of the only righteous nation in the Universe, the Kingdom of Jesus Christ!--That's our Country & Heaven is our Home!

Are you a citizen of that City already? Have you received your passport? Are you claiming your citizenship papers as a rightful citizen of that Heavenly City? Your passport is Jesus & your citizenship papers are the Promises of God for your Salvation!

Do You Feed Your Body But Starve Your Soul?

Some people feed their body & lose their soul, such as the rich man in the Bible who stuffed his barns full of grain. God said to him, "Thou fool, this night shall thy soul be required of thee: Then whose shall all those things be?" (Lk.12:16-21) Having a full stomach & a full purse & a full head cannot give you a full heart. In fact, if you put the desires of the flesh above the needs of your spirit, then you will find that nothing ever satisfies! You will become as the world-famed poet, Lord Byron, who despaired at the height of his fame, "I have drunk of every fount of pleasure & quaffed every cup of fame, yet, alas, I die of thirst!"

Just like you have to eat in order to have physical strength, the good wholesome reliable spiritual food of God's Word is essential for your spiritual life, & you won't last long without it! You need a good feeding & feasting & drinking of it every day!

Though your outward man is perishing, is your inward man still growing--renewed every day with the life-giving flow of His Spirit with the nourishment of His Words? -- "Taste & see, the Lord is good!" (2Cor.4:16; Isa.55:1,2; Psa.34:8)

Faithfulness In Little Things Is A Great Thing!

Never belittle any task that the Lord has given you, because even things that seem little are so important! You may think what you're doing now is not very important, but you just might be in school for something that's more important than you realize. The Lord tests you first with little things, & the more He finds He can trust you with, the more He gives you. He knows if you'll do little things diligently, faithfully & well, then He can trust you with big things. Jesus said, "He that is faithful in that which is least, is faithful also in much." (Lk.16:10)

Little things are big in God's eyes! God runs the whole World on small things & He judges us by small things. The whole World & all the Universe & God's Kingdom is made up of small things, very small things. And without the small things it wouldn't be here! -- Are you faithful in the little things?

Help us, Lord, to learn how important the little things are & not to fail in even the least of them! Thy Word says, "It is required that a servant be found faithful!" (1Cor.4:2)--Full of faith & faithful at their tasks. So, help us to be faithful & obedient to You, Lord!--In Jesus' name, amen!

Be A Faithful Operator.--Pray!

A prayer is just like a telephone call. When the Lord puts the thought in your mind about a certain person, that's a message from God. He's putting in a phone call to you, & He wants you to be the operator to connect the call to the person He wants to reach.

God initiates the call! Then you are like the telephone operator, & you have to transfer the call. God plugs the call in & if you are willing to plug it out, you can reach whoever He's trying to help. Your faith is the hand that flips the switch so they can receive God's message! You are the link between God & them, so if you fail to pass the call on, they will never get the message!

Of course, the person on the other end of the line has to pick up the phone when it rings & they have to listen & receive the call. You can't make them receive it, you can't make them pick up the phone. That's their responsibility! There are all kinds of reasons why you, as the operator, sometimes can't get through, but you have to keep trying!

Please pray! You're the Operator. It's your responsibility to pass on the message. Please don't fail!--Or someone will miss God's important call!

Living By Faith Means Putting Faith Into Action!

Some people seem to have the idea that living by faith means living by nothing or living for nothing or with nothing. Well, they're mistaken! Living by faith means putting feet to your prayers! It means doing everything you can possibly do, as though everything depended on doing, & praying like everything depended on prayer! Real faith is not a passive thing. It puts into action what it believes!

God helps those who help themselves, as well as those who can't help themselves, but He doesn't help those who can help themselves but won't! He works on the principle of "whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." (Gal.6:7) Nothing succeeds like success, & God blesses those who are fruitful, diligent, hard working, truly trusting & genuinely obeying! He will always reward hard work, diligence & faithfulness with more & more. If we do our best, God will do His best to help us.

So whatever you do, don't have a do-nothing religion!--Have a do-anything religion!--Anything you have the faith for! Have a do-it-yourself religion! Do what you know you can do, & God will do the rest!

Don't Trade The Best For Something Simply Good!

Are you really accomplishing God's highest & greatest purpose that He has in store for you? A lot of people try to get away with what they call "God's second best." They desert God's highest calling because they aren't willing to pay the price!

But don't talk about God's best & His second best! As far as the Will of God is concerned, there's only one best, that's His best, His first best, His first choice, the "high calling of God in Christ!" (Phi.3:14) If you take second choice, it's not really His second best, it's your best!

What is sin?--Not really doing the most important thing God wants you to do. It's missing the mark, missing the target, missing the bull's-eye of His Will. So "let us lay aside the weights & the sins"--anything that keeps you from doing God's highest & His best, that keeps you from being in the center of His Will. (Heb.12:1)

Lord, bless & keep us all in the center of Your Will where we can be of most use to You! Keep us single-minded & single-eyed, single-hearted, of one heart! We have no idea how great Thy purpose is, but we've answered Your call, Lord! Do help us to do Your best--the best we can & nothing less!

We Don't Need To Fear The Devil Or Any & All Of His Angels!--Jesus Is With Us!

Just as the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom & life (Pro.9:10), fear of Satan is the beginning of death! Fearing God is a form of worshipping God. It's giving Him the respect that He should have. But to fear the Enemy, to fear Satan, is giving him just the kind of worship that he wants. It's really worshipping the Devil!--So don't do it!--Not for a fraction of a second!

Satan's powers are not to be feared, much less worshipped, but to be resisted & rebuked & exorcised & gotten rid of & reproved & cast out & sent away! You have to fight fear like you have to fight the Devil! Resist it with faith & the Word of God! "The Lord has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power & of love & of a sound mind!" (2Tim.1:7) Put your faith in the Lord, & fear God, & all other fears will disappear!

"Although this World, with devils filled,
Should threaten to undo us,
We will not fear, for God hath willed
His Truth to triumph through us!
The Prince of Darkness grim,
We tremble not for him!
His rage we can endure,
For lo, his doom is sure!
One little word shall fell him!"

--Jesus!--The Master of all!
